I absolutely love the flowers in the attic series and the beginning and end to the book were flawless. I do think that the middle section dragged on for too long and I had to force myself to carry on but I quickly got over it and the story kicked in again.
I can't wait to read If There Be Thorns.

Just as dramatic and twisted as the first book, which I loved. It was interesting to see how the children's traumas unfolded as they grew older and tried to live normal lives, but really sad as well. I did like reading about Cathy's plans for revenge against her mother because quite frankly I thought it was deserved.

Flowers in the Attic was ok (creepy and filthy, but ok), and Petals on the Wind was just plain horrible. I was pretty much done with it after the first couple of pages due to its absolute unreadableness (is there such a word?), poor language and one-dimensional cardboard characters. Seriously, whatever happened to everyone? Henny seemed to be the only pleasant character, and she couldn't even speak... But as much as I hated it I had to finish the book hoping that it would get better. It didn't. What a total waste of time! Definitely NOT reading the other three books...
