This is the best written highlander romance I've read so far. By which I mean the plot was well considered and the characters were strong and we'll written. AND FINALLY...the heroine is a tall redhead! And I did love that this time, the hero was ALSO a virgin.
I searched so long for this book and it did not disappoint. Please, romance gods, tell me the rest of Kinley MacGregor's books are equally as good!

I was so excited for Sin's book and the story did not disappoint.  I so enjoyed reading Sin and Callie's story.  It was so sweet, and heartbreaking at times, but so so good!  I will probably come back to this one as a comfort read, despite how dark and torturous Sin's childhood was.

Wow, this book held so much promise. A tortured hero who just wants to be loved and accepted. Forced into marriage to a loving and caring heroine. However the book was just silly. And I mean the story was extremely cheesy. How can you take a Hero serious that has been an assassin but is happy to be laughed at when he returns to her clan men's wearing a dress. Or waking up to a pillow fight. Picking on highlanders wearing skirts and hiding behind his wife, like a little boy.

Hate I wasted money purchasing a book that I forced myself to finish on principle and will never reread. At it's weird because I truly like books with humor in them but the type of humor in this book and the way all the hard adult men act is to removed from reality to take seriously. Even in what should be a heated argument they talk like teenagers. " I don't like you"

This book sure surprised me.
I think that I have never read a book with a more tortured hero than Sin.
Gosh, poor man! The things he went through. :(
So, Born In Sin is the story of Sin, a seemingly English warrior, advisor to the king of England, Henry, who is "ordered" to marry Caledonia/Callie MacNeely, a fierce Scottish lass so that the Scottish people won't attack the English anymore.
At first, neither one desires this forced marriage but as they can't refuse the king, they end up marrying indeed.
Sin is the most tortured hero I have ever read about. He was rejected by both his parents; treated wrongly by his stepmother; taken to a ruthless man who, instead of protecting him, humiliated and beaten him up and ended up sold to even more ruthless men who tortured him and turned him into a slave.
He never knew love or kindness so he learnt to shut himself and to expect the worse from everybody, including his own family.
My heart broke every time I read things about Sin, what he suffered and his anguishing tortured thoughts. :'(
If I was in his place, I think I would act just like him. I would be terribly suspicious of everyone and afraid that they would hurt me once more. *sigh*
Luckily, he found Callie! :)
Callie is the stunning, fierce, sweet woman who has the difficult task to show the man that he is not worthless as he thinks and that he can be loved for who he is.
It is terribly difficult. Sin fights her with all he has because he doesn't believe that she can love him or that he can deserve her love.
But, in the end, fortunately, love is stronger than all the pain and war.
I totally recommend this book.

A great historical romance featuring a flawed, vulnerable, and lovable main character--Sin. I liked the chemistry between Sin and Caledonia. It was fun seeing the attraction between Caledonia and Sin when they first meet. I loved seeing Sin interact with the MacAllister brothers.

Maybe I was overly anticipating this one...it just didn't work for me. I love a traumatized broody damaged hero and I thought Sin was going to be one of my favorites of all time, but I really wasn't feeling it. I just felt sad for him and he was softer than I expected. I've been really craving a lit of angst lately so I will try this one again at a later time when my tastes in tropes change a bit.

The first 70% of the book was utterly predictable and brought nothing new to Highlander romances, but I did feel like the book had a strong ending.
