Listened to the audiobook version along with the ebook and Julia Whelan I would die for you. One of my favorite narrators.
When I first saw the title of the book, I was expecting something Eat, Pray, Love-esque, or at least the meme version of it, as I've never watched or read it, but when I saw this book mentioned in one of the quote RTs of a tweet talking about the end of Remember Me (2010) (you know when there's the absolute JUMPSCARE of Robert Pattinson dying in 9/11) I had to pick this book up immediately. A book taking place in NYC in 2000/2001 had me hearing the Jaws theme during the whole thing and whenever the Towers were mentioned I would jump, even knowing what was coming. I don't know quite how I feel about it. There was a lot going on, but I will say that Julia Whelan's narration added a little something extra to it.
Also S/O to this review as for pointing out that this book has joined the Rebecca Club of Narrators With Unknown Names.

I'm not really sure if this is the best rating for this book, but I thought it was going somewhere with its self-destructiveness, but instead it just hammered it in even more, and I'm not into it.

Really enjoyed this book! I’ve always wanted to sleep time away and wake up in a better world. Might be browsing the dark web for a while after this
