This book definitely had a different feel than her previous books. I think the addition of Diana Love changed the feel a little bit, not in a bad way, just an observation. The story is similar to the first in the series but different at the same time. I enjoyed the dynamic between Nathan and Terri, but I liked Nathan better than Terri. I did not like that this book didn't start out with the other B.A.D characters (from the previous book); I really enjoyed all of them in the last book. Some of them did make appearances but what I really want is the book for Joe and his lady love. This one was pretty good, can't wait to give the next one a try

This book was a fun investigative romance. I enjoy the high stakes plot and the steam. It was so much fun even if it was basically cotton candy of a book.

Praise God, hallelujah, for this book. It came at the perfect time for me. I have been having a really hard time with books lately, especially with heroines, but hopefully this book has pulled me out of my rut. I read this book now partly because I really, really wanted to, but also because I can always count on Sherrilyn Kenyon to give me a heroine I can love (with only two exceptions).
I love this book. I love the BAD Agency series. I love Sherrilyn Kenyon. I love Nathan and Terri and Carlos and Stoner. Damn, I am riding a high or something after finishing this book and actually liking it all the way through.
Nathan Drake was extremely sexy and intelligent. Sure, he was a bit to altruistic to be totally believable, but who is to say that, if my sister was about to be sent to prison that I wouldn't do whatever I could to prevent that, even taking her place? Hopefully it never, ever happens, but I suppose it could happen. What I could appreciate, though, was Nathan's devotion to his brother, one of the two people he loved most in the world, both of who are dead. Even if Terri couldn't really understand until the end when her grandma was being threatened, I can appreciate the fact that Nathan would do anything he had to in order to take down the man who murdered his twin. That dedication combined with his skills makes Nathan too sexy for his own damn good.
Like I said above, I have been having a really hard time with heroines lately. Really hard. Like, I have been hating every single one of them. For that alone, I was a tad bit nervous. However, like I also said above, I know that Sherrilyn Kenyon can always give me a heroine that I can love, or at least like. And I really did like Terri. There were times when she drove me nuts--like when she doubted Nathan--but I still loved her. I'm sure you can imagine how relieved I am to have still loved her by the end of the book! She was strong and brave, funny and intelligent, dedicated and loving to her family. She rocked!
I loved the other characters, too, especially Carlos and Stoner. As soon as I saw Carlos' name on the page...Well, I won't embarrass myself by telling you what I did. Suffice it to say that I got really excited. Carlos was the man who started my obsessive love of sexy men named Carlos, and let me tell you, I was definitely feeling that love again. As a matter of fact, I am going to start rereading his book as soon as I finish this review! Ahhhh, Carlos...*dreamy sigh*
Overall, this was a great book. Like I said, I love this series and I'm so glad I started reading it. Thank you, Sherrilyn Kenyon (and Dianna Love), for finally giving me a heroine I could love and hopefully getting me out of my bad book rut.

This book is the second in a series and I must say, I feel this book stands alone very well until the end, at that point it really screams part of a series as it sets up for the next novel. (The I'll get you next time gadget syndrome)
While the over all plot wasn't complicated albeit slightly predictable, it was nice to be forced to think for once.
Terri I found annoying. Because, while she is believable as a real woman; she's not as a special agent. She was suppose to be a field agent for years, but nothing Terri did screamed she had been working on solving crimes for as long as we're to believe she's been a special agent. NOTHING.
Nathan is very likeable if you're into the over-protective alpha males. He was very gentle and slow with Terri, but he stepped into the creep/paranoia over possessive zone several times in the novel.
The romance between the two is likeable, but very unbelievable that it happened in the first place.
As for the villains featured, they were your usual standard dog and pony show. Nothing new or different, but still very acceptable.
I got this for $3.99 at a local discount bookshop, and if I happen to walk across another in this series of books I'd buy it, but I won't be seeking them out.

The novel has her crying constantly that she can do her job, and even seems to poke fun with how much she tries to convince everyone she's capable when no, she's not. She makes rookie mistakes left and right, and she goes barreling into areas unprotected and with no "cop sense"Nathan is very likeable if you're into the over-protective alpha males. On a positive note, I did appreciate how the authors took the time to plug safe and smart sex.As for the villains featured, they were your usual standard dog and pony show. One thing that did bother me, was every criminal was a rapist as well, the the novel made special care to note this, even though it served no real purpose except in Duff's case. I can only assume it's to make them seem more "bad" and to draw a larger line between them and Nathan who walks a thin line on if he's bad or good.I got this for $3.99 at a local discount bookshop, and if I happen to walk across another in this series of books I'd buy it, but I won't be seeking them out.

Another awesome read from Sherrilyn Kenyon, kept me glued until the end. The last chapter was a little strange and got a bit confusing though. Overall a good story.

After reading Kenyon's Dark Hunter series and League series, this book was much more mainstream. The Bureau of American Defense (B.A.D.) is a super-secret organization that, if things went to hell in a hand basket, the American government wouldn't acknowledge. Their job is to assess and take out the most serious threats. Two years ago, a tiny village in South Africa was wiped out with what appeared to be a biological weapon. Nathan Drake was on a special operations mission to investigate. But his brother was framed in a drug bust and Nathan went AWOL to go home to help.
Two years later, while Jamie Drake is in jail, Nathan gets mixed in with the same crowd and is murdered. But it's not really Nathan because he took Jamie's place in prison. Such a great book, complex, the container and the biotoxin that's there, the plots and scheming, and yeah, really enjoyed it!
