The plot got me hooked and I blew through this book only to be incredibly let down by the ending. It felt like I had read the entire book just to have no outcome. Also I felt like the author introduced ideas that could have been excellent foreshadowing but nothing came of them? I genuinely enjoyed reading this book, but the ending left much to be desired.

This was a decent read. I wish the book focused a bit more on the murder investigation and shared more of the details along the way instead of glancing over it. I found the magic system interesting but also confusing.

Overall I was invested in the story and the main character, so giving it an average rating.
