Good Read

Never read the OG Dracula, but this was a very good read itself. Ending was unexpected but very welcome. Love me some happy endings.

This book is easily described as stirring, in more ways than one. The pacing, the emotional weight, the characterization, the themes, the passion. I found myself engrossed in every moment and detail.

My heart broke for the sorrows of every character and I felt such a connection to Jonathan as he slowly came out of his shell. The love story and dynamic of every facet of their beautiful relationship constellation was so well done even with how concisely it was wrapped up.

I only wish it were more detailed and longer or a series of books.

Lots of beautiful meaningful passages. But not as dark as I thought based off the premise. I was happy at ending though. Lucy and Dracula were my fav characters

A queer Dracula retelling!?! Yes! Please!

Was this perfect? No.
Did I think Johnathan was a bit annoying and wishy-washy? Definitely.
Did I enjoy the heck out of this?!?  Heck, yes! I did!

I wish this was longer and a bit more fleshed out but l enjoyed this queer spin on a classic. I enjoyed it a lot more than the original story.

Dracula is one of my favorite classics so I was really excited to start this book and thankfully I wasn’t disappointed!
The book is beautifully written. My only problem is that the book is not really dark or ‘spooky’ in the sense that dracula is usually associated with I guess.
I was only expecting dark themes because it is the main theme of the series. I don’t mind though because I usually enjoy found families and this one did not disappoint.
