Definitely an interesting and enjoyable read, I would recommend getting a physical copy of the book so you can enjoy the artwork within!

The scenes with the children are early in the book and, while short and brief, are graphic.elliott_roi's review against another edition
3.5
The MC is absolutely a terrible person and most of the characters aren't much better (except Shi Mei, bless him). I don't wanna give spoilers, but if you read through the content warnings, you're basically reading a list of the protagonist's misdeeds.
The main plot is that the MC is reborn and has the chance to redo his life, so I'm very curious to see if that's actually possible. Can he go in a better direction? If yes, does that erase his past crimes? How much can truly be forgiven?
I think I would enjoy this story more if the main relationships were more healthy. The plot and themes have kept me very invested, but oh my god, I don't know if I could ever recommend this book because a large part is romance, but it's sooo problematic. The title alone indicates a relationship between a student and teacher (a disciple and master/Shizun), and in this first book, there is such a huge age gap and it's honestly very yikes.
I honestly don't know what to rate this cuz it's awful but also really well-written and I couldn't look away??!? I think I'll give it a 3.5 for now, but that may change. 😅
