I loved these characters in book 1, but their love story fell flat. Yes she fell hard for him when they met, but he didn't offer enough.

It has been 5 years since After Midnight and Portia is all grown up and still in love with Julian. Julian has left home looking for his soul so he can be the man Portia deserves. When Julian returns to London women are being murdered...bled...and Adrian, his brother, and Larkin think it might be Julian but Portia believes otherwise. Portia will go to the ends of hell to get Julian's soul and Julian must stop her before she is killed.

Love love loved this novel and series. I love the mixture of historical romance and paranormal. It is a witty and passionate story that has you in love with teh Kane brothers and cheering on the Cabot sisters. It is a great read for anyone.

I really didn’t like that Julian just disappeared and now, even though he’s the one that left them, he gets offended with how they react to him
(for example when Caroline couldn’t find her daughter and discovered that she was sitting on Julian’s lap)
. The last time they saw him was after he’d drunk human blood for the first time, and before they could see how/if that affected him, he disappears. Now he’s back and at the same time murders start happening, so how is everyone supposed to react to him being back when he’s become a stranger?

I didn’t like how Portia blindly takes Julian’s side all the time. There was a moment where she talked about being indifferent to him, but that lasts maybe a page or two.

I didn’t like this book because there was basically one conflict which could have been easily avoided, except Julian makes a decision that makes no sense to me and causes all the subsequent problems.
I have no idea why Julian didn’t kill Valentine when he met her, and I couldn’t understand why he seemed to have been in a relationship with her.

This book and the main point of it were not for me, as it just made me angry. While I really didn’t like this book, I’ll still probably try other books by this author as I liked Adrian and Caroline’s book.

Not as hot as book one and the end was a little much but still enjoyable. I’m happy I read this especially since it was just a duology. It definitely had some old school vibes and I’d like some more explanation of what happened when they were locked up together in the past. I’ll be reading more from the author. Don’t read this one before book one or even the summary.

SUCH A GOOD HISTORICAL PARANORMAL ROMANCE.

The first book in this series is definitely my favorite historical romance to date, but this is obviously a close second. Second chance AND a vampire? IMMEDIATE 5 stars.

I am in desperate search of other historical romances like this one, so if you have any recommendations please send them my way.

Portia Cabot, once saved the life of Julian Kane, a vampire and one who has been searching for his soul, so that he can be mortal once more. Its been years since he has seen his family and Portia sister-in-law to his brother. So when he sees her coming for him in a gambling hell, all the emotion he once felt for her comes riding back like a ocean current and he knows he must protect her, especially against those that would just as soon kill her, a ex lover and a woman who has possession of his soul, a very ancient vampiress. Portia knows that despite the fact that they haven't heard from Julian in years, there is still much good in him, and her intent is to save him once more, with all the love she has always held for him.....
The Vampire Who Loved Me is the second in the Cabot series, and this is probably one of my favorite series by Teresa Medieros. This is a author that I have come to adore over the years of reading her books, and I fall in love with each and every one of her stories, and this is a re read and its been quite a while since I had read it, and I love historicals mixed with the paranormal (which can be hard to find at times) The Vampire Who Loved Me is a emotional and tender love story that will pull at your heartstrings with every page. Its such a story that even though filled with twists and turns, definitely a memorable story and a pure delight!!!

My Favorite Quote
"A lifetime won't be long enough to love you. I told you once before that whether I was a vampire or a man, I would love you for all eternity." He touched his lips to her brow. "My sweet...my darling...my angel...my bright eyes"
