I loved this story so much! 🐚🌊🐉
I wasn't expecting much going into it at first but it did not take long at all for me to get completely sucked into that world and this amazing story... 💘
The characters were all so lovable and I will truly never forget them. Mina & Shin have won a really special place in my heart... 🥹🩵
This book was not like anything I ever read before and it was so full of comfort and just like the most beautiful fairytale ♥️
Absolutely gorgeous writing and such an amazing plot 💜🌸💜
The ending had me SOBBING but in a really content and happy way 💘
Would 100000% recommend this read and I can definitely imagine reading this again one day... 📖😊

Hard to put down this gloriously beautiful story! It read like a folktale and myth, but it was written in present tense and felt so fast-paced as we were experiencing everything with Mina. I wanted more from the love story, but I got so much from the richly imaginative world of the spirits that it felt like enough balance of both. I would love to dive into the sea and live in this world!!

Solid, middle of the road, pleasant enough to read. I had fun, there's not much to say. Mina isn't the sharpest crayon in the box, I wasn't particularly invested in her and Shin, both as a pair and individually, and honestly I liked most of the side characters more. Whether it's Namgi & Kirin, Mask, Dai & Miki or the Goddess of Moon and Memory, they all promised bits of story that would be more interesting to me personally but I can respect sticking to the story the author wants to tell, which does focus on Mina and Shin. Though I would've just just a teeny bit more on Namgi and Kirin. Just a scrap. Most of their stuff seems to have been resolved quickly and off camera or it was teased and then never followed up upon.
I did expect going in that it was gonna be no more than a 3 for me and so it was.

I really wanted to like this novel, but the plot was just a bit too see-through a bit too often.
The characters were all typecasts. The world building felt unfinished- a character would get to a seemingly far away destination without any time passing.
The protag's motivations didn't always make sense and it was difficult to get a read on her character. We were constantly being Told how she felt but it never felt earned. I wanted to care about the love story but there really wasn't much to grab on to.
I liked the creativity of the world and there was a lot of beauty in how some things were described. I think this wouldve made for a pretty decent short story, but as a novel it fell flat.
