3 stars due to how much I remember liking the volume as a kid, but if I'd read this volume for the first time today then I'd have given it 2 stars instead. This feels like an "inbetween" volume to me, which it is in some way since the buggy fight ends and Usopp is introduced. I think what really makes me think this is also the Gaimon mini story. So yeah, the volume kind of okay, kind of boring compared to what I remember thinking as a kid.

Even though some characters do not add a lot to the plot, the whimsy and lunacy is still strong with this volume. Plus it is starts one of my favourite storylines in the East Blue Sega.

Reading these in paperback is such a huge improvement. Perfect to pick up and enjoy bite-size chunks of watching the characters develop. It's just plain fun.
