I'm a little baby fledging queer witch, and this was my first nonfiction book about witches. What an amazing, informative, approachable book to start off my journey! Many thanks to Pam Grossman for writing this treasure. I'm so excited to learn more.

A wonderfully breezy read with great research and heart. Grossman gives context and makes connections that flesh out the witch archetype in a new era. A great read for crones and witchlets alike or anyone who is confused or intrigued by the witch wave (also her podcast name....also worth checking out).

In this half-memoir, half-essay collection, Grossman explores where witches come from, why the internet is obsessed with them, and how they've gone from fiends to feminist icons

Pay no attention to the dates here. I don’t know how to work GoodReads yet. ANYWAY! This book is great. It’s part witch memoir and part history of “modern witchcraft” as we understand it. A great comparison is made here: how the world feels about witches is how it feels about women. A lot of modern political discourse near the end, which apparently has put a lot of people off, but it gives us vital context for the environment in which the “witch wave” is occurring. Highly recommend to anyone who is a witch, loves a witch, or is witch-curious.

Well-researched and beautifully written, this book is as much a memoir of one witch's journey as it is a history and a state of the craft. Every page shines with the joy Pam takes from her practice. This is a valuable contribution to the rapidly-growing body of this next wave of witchery books. I discovered it through her podcast, Witch Wave, which I can't recommend highly enough. Brava, sister, and thank you.
