Despite being really short I found it a pretty dull slog. Probably only recommended for curious Mormons, extreme nerds or the mildly autistic.

A strongly evocative work. It's a little scattered, a little too focused on romance ... like the romances ended up being just side-quests, interesting activities that passed the time till the climax, rather than tying into it. But anyway Peck gives us quite a lot to think about.

there are no words i can write that come remotely close to how bleak this book was, and i loved it. i’m easily engrossed in religious discussions and fascinated by mortality so choosing to read this was an easy decision. however, i probably shouldn’t have read it in one sitting right before bed due it’s existential nature :’) i have no doubt that i’ll be thinking about this one for years.

A fascinating take on hell.
