This was long overdue for a re-read because I didn't remember the story at all! I love the prolonged romance and the classic Janeite villain.

This book maybe equal in my mind to pride and prejudice... which is my all time favorite. It had a slow start (but so did pride and prejudice) but I was soon entranced with Anne Elliot and wanted to be her. Jane Austen remains my favorite author and does not does disappoint.

This was my missing Austen and with the new movie coming out I wanted to get it read before watching it. It was good, but my favorite remains P&P.

I feel the only person worth knowing in the Elliot family was Anne the rest were horrible people. It will be interesting to watch the new adaptation and it will be interesting to go back and watch some of the older ones.
