This book has some useful information but the examples are largely around a person going to be a VP of a multinational or other very high level position. While people at lower management levels might get helpful information it could use some more ‘normal’ case studies to assist with applicability.

This book is written towards someone stepping into a new management role. If you're not going to be a manager, there are better work-related books out there. Watkins makes a few helpful points regarding company culture, but the vast majority of the content has been said before.

Clear wins and an easy read. Well structured. I would borrow rather than buy - you can get through the material quick and if you've read much in the field (HBR, materials from a management course or two, etc.) you'll find some of this quite familiar. It does set out a good plan/approach to, as you'd expect, the first 90 days.

If you're about to start a new job, in a new company, in a new industry, in a newly created team (all things I've done in the last three weeks), I highly recommend this book! It's written mainly for managers and new hires expected to tackle large projects and department/company wide change, so not every chapter may apply for each job transition, but for me it was about 80% what I needed to read and think about.

Some of the best advice - stop, listen, learn - has helped me manage my new career change and has reaffirmed some of my initial impulses and assuaged some frustrations. I now have a better idea on how I can take control of my success and guide my first few months.

Word of advice: for the best outcome, read this book before starting a new job.

Read this since I am starting a new job next week. Some good pointers but aimed towards people in leadership positions.

Good book for, well, starting a new job. Nothing is rocket science, but everything you need to think about is all in one place. It's easy to reference and a great reminder of things you need to do, other than the items on your to-do list, in order to succeed in a new role.

All kinds of things I would do differently. Wish I had this book a couple years ago. I'm glad I have access to worksheets because there are a lot of assignments.

Good recommendations on how to structure your first three months in a new role, including practical advice on which conversations and discovery to prioritize and how not to lose momentum. If you are changing jobs - recommended reading.
