Love this book! It was funny, relatable, emotional, romantic, spicy, and much more. So easy to read. It laid the story out well. I didn’t want to finish it.

I DNF’d this book at 19%, I only got that far because it was a book club read. The “jokes” in this felt so dated, like 90s misogyny, all kids are little terrors, and drink to escape spending any time with your family during your family holiday dated. I just couldn’t.

I have resigned myself to reading nothing but Christmas books this season and oddly enough, this Christmas novel is one of my favorite books of the year. I kept seeing people post about it so finally I was like ok I’ll join in. Part of what I loved so much about this book was her family. They reminded me so much of the Braverman’s (“Parenthood”…. Hello?!).

There was so much heart in this book. It was filled with real problems, a woman who had resigned herself to being the best aunt ever but never having a family of her own, and an ex that shows up at her family Christmas gathering to make amends for past hurt.

It was impossible not to fall in love with both main characters and with this whole family. This book was filled so much with family traditions, the love they have for one another, and holiday spirit that it was impossible to not feel it dripping from the pages. This was beautifully written, emotional, and SO FUNNY! You will laugh out loud throughout this book.

Kate Stewart- please tell me there will be a part two. I know I’m not just speaking for myself when I say we NEED a part two!

Kate Stewart does it again, and reduces me to a boubbing mess. In the best way. 🤎🤎🤎
