This was such an intense book. The trigger warnings are there for a reason, so if you are sensitive to any of it, be advised some parts of this book are indeed explicit.

I love Ben and Gavin. There relationship is so strong and seeing the love they have for one another is great. Ben really shined in this one. Well, they all did, but I loved seeing him in action more. I felt so much for Cole. Myah, there are just no words for heartbreaking it was for everything she went through. I've loved her since she became Gavin's partner in the first book. She's so strong and is always fighting for the right things.

Tears came in the epilogue. So sweet and just a wonderful ending. I want more of the happy with them.

I had seen the warnings beforehand so I was prepared for the brutality in this book, but even I was a bit shocked at how far the author chose to take it, and I´m not easy to shock. So, of course, I loved it.
A.J did not shy away from the difficult parts of the story, the horrible things that happened wasn´t only implied, but described and that´s a brave and bold thing for an author to do!
A.J is an amazing author. And I loved her way of making me feel like i was right there in the book, even though that feeling was horrible at times, and sometimes the feeling was quite nice ;) I loved the angst and the boldness of the story. But most of all, I loved the characters and the relationships. They were real and believable, and beautiful.
Now, I feel I need to point out again, this book is not for everyone! There are many kinds of triggers, and sensitive readers might want to skip this book.
But if you´re up for it, Consent is a powerful book, well written and impossible not to be moved by, and soo worth all the nail biting you might do, and all the tears you might cry.
Well done, A.J! <3

I love Gavin and Ben, they are such a beautiful couple!

This book was so very hard to read at times, I had to look away. It was heartbreaking! I didn't mind the ménage scene, it was a beautiful scene and I felt like it brought Gavin and Ben even closer to together, if that was even possible. It left me wanting to know if McKnight was able to get what Gavin and Ben have, I hope so.

Myah...my heart just broke into pieces for her. Her scenes were difficult. Her healing journey is going to be a long one.

AJ Rose has got me invested in the newcomer...Brady. What's going to happen to him?

I love this series . I love the characters and their authenticity and development. I love the relationships , mainly the relationship between Ben and Gavin but also all the secondary characters who are so well drawn they stay with you. I love the description of BDSM lifestyle and the powerful love between Dom and sub.
A.J.Rose is excellent at writing crime thrillers keeping you rapidly page turning till the last moment. Her books are an emotional read, not just heart beating anxiety but even tears .
While I can't take any of these things away and people deserve to know how good they are, I've dropped a star because I do not like reading in such brutal detail about torture and rape. This book maybe crossed a line too far for my complete enjoyment. Was it really necessary? I'm not sure even if that's a rhetorical question. Maybe it was necessary. Maybe we need to be disturbed and shaken about the very real presence of man's inhumanity to man in our world. If however I thought the author included these hideous scenes simply as titillation or torture porn, I would remove more than one star! However, the opportunity to donate money and educate ourselves about the reality of sex trafficking at the end of the book makes me think not.
Now however I'm off to read something funny and as far from this as I possible can to try to purge my mind.

This book literally fucked with my head. Oh my god, I have never felt like this before. I have been crying even after hours of completing this book. And my eyes are still blur to even see the keyboard.

I know the author gave us trigger warning, but those incidents didn't give me any pain or anxiety but when Marshall died, i couldn't take. I just couldn't. After completing that particular chapter i kept the book aside so that i can breathe properly.

Even though i know he was just a character i couldn't help but feel for the kids in the similar situation.

I love you, Marshall.

I had an instant connection with him from the book 2, so when he died it just felt like someone close to me was dead.

After really liking the first two books - with the subject matter, enjoying always seems the wrong word - I was keen to get into book three. I did read some reviews which made me hold off a bit, more so that I had time to give to the read, rather than trying to fit in 10 minute snatches.
This was a real rip your heart out and put it back together book - the difficult subject matter of kidnap, prostitution, abuse of power, rape, god it makes your blood boil the things people will do to other people for money.
The Myah chapters are hard to read, seeing what she and the boys endured, the callousness of their captors, the absence of any compassion for a life.
The chapters where Cole, Ben and Gavin are looking for her are rife with their desperation - though not as traumatic to read obviously.
SpoilerThe parts that most people seem to have problems with are Myah's rape and the threesome. Whilst not good to read, the rape did set the scene of desparation and desolation very well. McKnight added to the mix with Ben and Gavin for a night was hot - I enjoyed it! I never felt he or the situation was a threat to their relationship.
The part that upset me the most was Brady and Myah's beating, so horrid, I did have to tell myself it is a story but I did feel full of impotent rage. Got to the stage that I didn't want to read what torture was going to come next in the Myah chapters.

It is not for the faint hearted I think, and whilst I am glad I read and am in awe of the writing talent of AJ Rose, it is probably the one book in the series that I would think twice about before rereading.
