We limit information from outside and we also limit information inside our conscious mind which ends up inventing its own story.

Nobody does anything out of the goodness of their hearts. Everyone is selfish and only does things to benefit themselves.
There. That’s the book.

One of the best, if not the best, non-fiction book I've read. I've been deeply fascinated with the topic of evolutionary psychology over the past 18 months and this books covers a LOT of interesting topics. Part 1 gives an overview of the general theory of the topic, but in a non-technical and easy to understand format. Part 2 then breaks down individual elements of our lives for closer examination, such as conversation, art, religion, etc. A lot of what I have read has stayed with me in the weeks that followed finishing it. I'll be giving it a second read in the near future for sure.

just too boring to keep on reading it - the main thesis of the book is basically that according to evolution we are driven by selfish behavior (duh) and that this is furthermore driven by hidden motives and societal norms (yes! but … no shit, sherlock)
pretty lame and a waste of time, if you have ever read some stuff about the topic before and aren't a total newbie

Sometimes was very insightful. Often, sadly, boring.
