I am confused and yet intrigued at the same time. Also, none of this made sense.

Jesus these books love painful cliffhangers. I truly adored this book almost as much as the first one. Ash and Dorothy have my heart. (Impressive with a het pairing.)

The only negative thing I have to say is that I wish we got more Chandra, Willis, and Zora.

I need Dark Stars NOW. How am I supposed to wait until March??

This book is proof that a sequel can make you see the first book in a whole new light.

[b:Stolen Time|35053301|Stolen Time (Dark Stars, #1)|Danielle Rollins|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1529946567l/35053301._SY75_.jpg|56341426]was not what I expected. Unfortunately, I resented the book because of this. I know, I'm a horrible person. I honestly am not sure what compelled me to start reading this on a random Thursday night when I probably should have been sleeping. I wasn't really planning on continuing this series. Now, I'm seeing it as one of my new favorites and can't wait for the next one.

I don't really read time travel books, the only other one I can think of is [b:Passenger|20983362|Passenger (Passenger, #1)|Alexandra Bracken|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1446749751l/20983362._SY75_.jpg|40360384] which is more of a fantasy approach (and a way to quickly fall asleep). However, this series contains tropes and concepts that I don't doubt are commonly used in Time Travel stories. I can't help but feel that Rollins probably uses these elements much better than your standard fare. This book combines Time Travel with Dystopia and focuses more on friendship and loyalty rather than an all-consuming romance.

The First book set the stage for it's successor, which makes the sequel feel natural and part of the bigger story. Most trilogies don't succeed in this. The second book provides more details and insight on events of the first book, hence my whole new view on Stolen Time.

Whether you felt meh (like me) or loved Stolen Time, I recommend you pick up [b:Twisted Fates|46025047|Twisted Fates (Dark Stars, #2)|Danielle Rollins|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1561400708l/46025047._SY75_.jpg|63154671].

Oh, this was such a great sequel, loved the time travel shenanigans, and I need to finish out this series!

Wow, this series. So I'll start with the only negative I had about this book, which was that the first half seemed a bit slow to me. At first, I was wondering if this book would suffer "middle book syndrome" and be more of a filler than anything, but definitely not. Once you get to the second half, things definitely pick up. There's a lot we find out, which is great, but it always leaves you with a lot more questions as well. The ending, just like the first book, leaves you on a huge cliffhanger, one that leaves you going "WTF?!" Ugh, I hate reading books as they come out. I want to binge this whole series now! This is definitely a new favorite series.
