At parts it took me a bit to get through it, other times I was quickly intrigued by what was happening. The end really did get to me, mostly because of Patroclus if I’m honest.

An easy and enjoyable read although the characters are one dimensional and only motivated through one base desire.

The story itself is timeless. There's a reason it finds its way to the spotlight after years of being published and it's truly a beautiful retelling.

The writing style is unique, and it took me a while to adjust to it. When I first started reading, it felt so choppy and like monotone almost? The pacing was also unique, we spend a long time on some things that seem not super important and then glance over other things that a traditional fantasy would prolong. But those things are definitely part of the art, and thrown together they work really well.

Otrolig kärlekshistoria i början och slutet men däremellan lite långdragna krigshistorier och ologiska vändningar

patroclus had no existence other than to admire achilles. he was just there to praise achilles’ feet, golden hair and skin and no wonder he died because of achilles.
achilles wasn’t something special either, in the 2 part of the book he turned into a selfish prick because of his fragile pride and caused his lover’s death.

i have watched a lot videos based on greek mythology and was excited to read about it but this couldn’t disappoint me any more.

this book my god. hearbreak has never been more beautiful. it sucks u in but in such a meaningful way that u still love the book sm just cuz its so well done despite ur heart being in absolute pieces. also omg the fanart for patrolichelles is soso good. ive always been super interested in greek mythology (although the more i learn about the rapists and murderers and absolute assholes that are the gods the more murders i wanna commit) every since PJO. so yes that aspect of it was super cool, especially w it being the centered around the famous achilles. amazing amazing writing style i dont know how to explain it but its like every word washes over u in the most perfect way and its so clear how well thought out every single thing is. it describes characters and their relationships in the most pure and brilliant way. speaking of the characters. speaking of the characters SPOILER ALERT i wanted to fucking jump into the book and get achilles’s head out of his stupid ass. patrolacus is an absolute sweetheart and deservs the absolute world and yet still got stuck with this delusional dumbass. like i get u love him but maybe kick some sense back into him???? like seriously sir literally caused so many deaths cuz of his stupid ego and glory like what the actual hell. i also hated a lot of the other characters but i was supposed to and like yeah so much rage but so worth it
