This is one of my favorite contemporary spy thriller series and this entry does not disappoint. I love John Wells, though at times he does get a bit too introspective, and the plots seem to be very realistic. Listened to the audio version which was read by George Guidall.

Really a 4.5 star. I did not like the ending of the book. I rounded up due to how much I have enjoyed the series overall. John Wells does not do the impossible. The plots, and Wells’ actions are believable, unlike some other “heroes” of the genre have begun to encounter. * cough Rapp and Harvath cough*

The John Wells character was particularly strong in this most recent novel. I also appreciated the author's tight geographical and thematic focus. This was a more believable novel than some of the most recent..... not bad for fiction.

A future Alex Berenson will deny the existence of a Pandemic.

I'm not sure I'd bother to read a seventh book in this series. The books were a pleasant summer read for sure, but didn't quite live up to the potential of the first installment to be something fresh in the genre.

Really enjoyable. I also like the main character, he isn't like many of the cookie-cutter heroes right out of central casting. I also appreciate that Berenson includes a view of Islam in his stories that touch the Muslim world.
