Sharp and blunt, this is an excellent examination into the exploitation of child stars. Jeanette is clever, funny, and genuine in her memoir, and listening to her recount her life story is both horrifying and intriguing.

It's hard to rate a book so vunerable and honest as this one. However, I also liked the construction and writing of it, so I decided to rate it anyway. So important and moving!!

Heartwrenching. Emotional. Oddly hilarious in places. I would recommend listening to the audiobook.

Finishing this, it’s so clear to see why this has been such a hit. Jennette does an amazing job writing about her very emotionally devastating and dark life events with a measure of levity without obscuring how bad the events truly were. It’s easy to eat up a good chunk of the book the way the narrative grips you in. I felt engaged through and through and would absolutely recommend anyone who’s never really read memoirs before (like me!).
