This book was awesome. I stumbled on this through Mobireader and I was really impressed by the novel especially for one of the "independents". It reminded me of a cross between Ender's Game, Star Wars, Star Trek and even Firefly (the TV show). All of the good stuff. The writing is well done, the characters well developed, and the story is very good. This is sci-fi space opera in fine form. The follow on series is excellent as well. highly recommend this to anyone for a light, tasty sci-fi read.

This was a great opening trilogy. It took awhile to get through, but the story was well worth it. There were some parts where the grammar could have been better, but for a free book I can't complain. I can't wait to read the rest of the series :)

This was a free download for my Kindle and turned out to be an enjoyable action packed adventure tale. I will certainly be reading the other titles in the series.

This is a free Kindle book from Amazon that is obviously a setup to purchase additional books in the series. It's a grouping of three novellas that set the stage for a ongoing space opera saga.

The first of the novellas sets the stage - providing the backstory and setup for the remainder of the series, in that vein, Lalonde creates a compelling universe and intriguing environment for the crew to operate in. Through that process, he fills the narrative with a strong plot full of action along with some twists.

The second novella starts the "real" action with the introduction of the powerful, "evil" corporations. The story is another great read - with constant action and fun interplay between the characters.

Lalonde talks a bit about the technologies in use, but this is definitely not "hard science-fiction." Nonetheless, it continues to be a fun read.

The third book continues the fun and excitement...not much more to say that hasn't already been said. I'll definitely dig out the follow up books.

I received this set of stories as an amazon freebie. Excellent for one of the freebie reads. Reads like episodes of star trek or something like that.

These stories are epic from the first day, the universe is built one phone call, one cup of noodles at a time, all the way to planets and stars far beyond Earth.
I'm so glad that someone recommended this series. Now I'm passing that favor on to you too.
