I found the book a funny and useful reminder to carry on paying attention to what's happening in the world (no matter how depressing), and try to learn more about history for a broader view of it all.

Typical Frankie Boyle humour; if you've ever heard him speak you will read this entirely with his voice in your head. Best quote is right at the end. It may at first seem distinctly unlike him, but really it's just a peak behind the curtain: "...despair is really a failure of perspective. Despair is a moment that pretends to be permanent."

maybe would have been better as a podcast so could actually hear Frankie reading this, don't think the humour comes across as well in print
