Overall these have the theme of small town. Some are more Christmas-y than the others. Novella can be hit or miss and a couple of these were miss for me as they were too short.
The Perfect Christmas by Carolyn Brown is the last story in her Longhorn Ranch series but can be read as a standalone but might like the others before. This one worked for me and had her normal fast pace love story. Light on the steam.

Cowboy Christmas at Heart by A.J. Pine
This is also in a series but can really be read as a standalone- Meadow Valley. I enjoyed this one as well and had cute backstory of HS miss with a second chance. This had a bit of steam. Very cute meet cute and story line over the Holiday Parade! Favorite of the bunch.

Home for the Holidays by Rochelle Alers
This one was small town but not a huge amount of Christmas and a lot to do with military and pasts. This was just okay - did have some closed door steam. This one didn't really match with the others.

Joy to the World by Hope Ramsay
Older love story romance- small town. Local doctor gets the music teacher to help with the Christmas pageant. Closed door steam.

These were cute, quick holiday reads. If you’re looking for something quick and light-hearted between reads, these stories are a nice option.

RATING: 4 STARS
2020; Forever/Grand Central Publishing

A Little Country Christmas was a nice anthology to read a novella a night. The romances were set actually set during the holidays season. They really encompassed that warm feelings of the holidays and romances. There is one story that I wasn't super crazy over so I did rate it about 4 stars. The first novella by Carolyn Brown melted my heart, and I am looking forward to reading the series it is a part of, Longhorn Canyon Series. AJ Pine and Hope Ramsay are also on my TBR list! That is what I also liked about this collection is that you get to see how the authors write, before you commit to a series.

***I received a complimentary copy of this mass market paperback book from the publisher. Opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.***

This is a lovely set of 4 mini stories all having to do with romance around Christmastime in small countryside towns.

The general theme is that there's one person who has experienced some form of loss or abandonment who is not a fan of the holidays, but then they meet someone who changes it for them. It could be a touch cheesy but I personally love a little cheese now and then.

I highly recommend this as a heartwarming read around the holidays. The only way I could've enjoyed this more was if I read it closer to Christmastime.

4.5/5 rounded up to 5.

Thank you to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for the eGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.

These stories ranged from cute to emotional. Loved the Carolyn Brown one. It featured a single mom with the cutest little girl and the cowboy who did everything in his power to help them have a perfect Christmas. A.J. Pine's featured a deputy policewoman try to convince the town mayor to get back into the holiday spirit and let the town celebrate in their usual way. I loved the Rochelle Alers story and how it featured a soldier dealing with PTSD, though the ending of that one was a bit odd. Hope Ramsey's story was about older people, which was great. A doctor had to convince a woman known as the town Grinch to direct a Christmas choir. In the end, I think I liked Carolyn Brown and Hope Ramsey's offerings the best, though each story was great on its own. I've definitely got to try more works by these authors, that's for sure. Check this out if you're looking to squeeze in some more holiday reading before Christmas. There's something here for everyone!

What a lovely collection of novellas this is, each a heartwarming and easy to read story. I enjoyed each of the authors' writing and three of them were new to me, I'll be sure to check out more of their work. Christmas spirit is sprinkled throughout this book. My romantic heart fell in love with each of the characters and I easily connected with them. Christmas, romance, sweet and charming characters, cowboys - what more could I ask for!
