Not my favorite in the series... basically just details Janie's "meeting" her father, and dealing with the decision to isolate or face the consequences.

I really enjoyed McMann's writing style. She has a way of making a reader really think about the implications and how one can-vs-should approach a situation. This series was a fast, easy read, and I would recommend it to adults as well as mature high school students.

it was ok.
we were finally able to see janie discover more about her family, was it entertaining? not so much... but i kinda liked it how throughout the book it was palpable how lost she felt regarding the hard decisions she would have to take for her future.
i thought this was the weakest book in the series. the end could have been more interesting and original but oh well... i'm happy that she and cabel were capable of talking about their problems and stay together at the end.
i'm sad that janie didn't find any solutions for her problem and a difficult life awaits her but i guess that's kinda of an interesting and realistic approach to have at the end of a book: "life might not always be a good time for some".

This is one of the most incredible series that I have ever read. It's simple creativity is genius. While I enjoyed Wake and Fade more than this book I still think it was a great ending to a great series.
It's hard to talk about this book without spoiling Wake and Fade for people that haven't read them. By the way, if you haven't read them: What are you waiting for!!?

This book is full of Janie's turmoil. She has to decide. But both of her options are equally terrible. At least that is what she thinks. One of my favorite parts of this trilogy, if not my favorite, is Janie and Cable. In Gone, Janie and Cable's relationship is a bit strained. Understandably so. But that's one of the reasons that I didn't like this one as much. Don't get me wrong. I still loved it! Maybe I'm just judging it too harshly because I'm sad that it's the last book....

Lisa McMann is one of the most talented authors I have ever read. She takes a story that most other author would muddle up with inane details and just gives you the basics. And it works! And it's amazing! I love this style of writing. I will be reading anything that McMann writes in the future! Anything!

I didn't really like this book, I think it was bogus to bring Henry in like that, and then pull him away. Janie got on my last nerve, too whiny. it just wasn't a good book

Oh, what a disappointment. After loving both Wake and Fade, I felt like this one was something completely different, and not in a good way. I disliked the characters, who almost felt like emotionless caricatures of themselves (from the previous books). It all just seemed like filler, and not very good filler at that, especially to end a trilogy.

I wasn't sure how Janie's story was going to end, and honestly, the way it ended was fine. It was the getting there that was the problem. It just seemed that every character in the book was defeated. There was very little happiness, hope, or love. We were told that Janie and Cabel were in love (and we saw it in previous books), but it really was not shown here. Cabel was mean, Janie was distant--it was just bad.

I would not recommend this one at all. Even if you've read the previous two books. Make up your own ending--it'd be better than reading this.

I have to say I was really pleased with how Janie went through the process of figuring out how to begin the next stage of her life. Too bad there is not going to be a forth book, I would have like to follow her adventure a little longer.

I felt like this book was a bit of a letdown after the other books in the Wake trilogy. The other ones had engaging plots and good storylines, if written a bit confusingly- this one just seems to wander along. Semi-spoiler warning: I also felt like the vague-ending thing was misapplied- it was the right way to go with a series like this, but I didn't feel like it was written in the right way.

End spoiler

Bottom line: as good as this book was....... it left me unsatisfied with the entire series, which is frustrating because McMann does introduce interesting ideas.

I really liked this book. It was completely different than I expected after reading Fade. Im happy the series didn't end and sad as I thought it would.

Liked the 2nd book better. This one was a little dull in comparison.
