Finalmente entendo porque tantos dizem que, para quem gosta de psicologia, Dostoyevsky é O escritor. A complexidade psicológica deste livro é arrebatadora.

Too long and very confusing with so many similar names. But damn if those Russians can't write the perfect mental breakdown.

This book is a tough read a times, but worth it. It contains a lot of Interesting perspectives and insights into the mind of Rodion Raskolnikov, and the effects of what he did.

One of my favourite books. Dostoyevsky’s take on crime is welcomingly insightful as he discusses the true essence of a crime and how it is an umbrella term that can take the form of legal activities. He doesn’t take a formal approach for the exploration of punishment; instead, the path he chooses creates a complex and three-dimensional character that is easy to sympathise with - Dostoyevsky wants you to think and rethink your views, and there are several points throughout the novel where I feel the need to put it aside and truly reflect upon my own beliefs. A brilliant storyteller with well-rounded characters, and I would highly recommend ‘Crime and Punishment’ to anyone looking for a challenging or thought-provoking read.
