Overdramatic dialogue that felt juvenile and unrealistic in a way that made conversations between characters lose a lot of flow. I also was really let down by the bare bones nature of the worldbuilding that, within 174 pages, really was not delved into much beyond setting up the various Londons and some magic. But after 174 pages, I didn't feel that the plot had moved much at all and the world was uninteresting, sadly.

Fun but feels like it's doing a lot and some threads felt left behind. Each London is vividly imagined, from the sumptuous Red to spine-chilling White. I wish we could have learned more about Kell's lost past and the vanishing Antari, which feels like a big deal but isn't really addressed.

The world is fun, but barely fleshed out. The characters are interesting, but don't grow. The plot is just plain bad, predictable, messy, and dare I say unintelligiblely designed? So much potential and it feels like a first draft...
