I had high hopes for this book, as it deals with something my manuscript does, and it makes it exciting for me to see that there is a market for this type of narrative.

I was fully expecting a heartfelt road trip where two old friends reconnected and explored the complex themes involved with consent and bodily autonomy, and I was here for it. What it is instead, is a madcap adventure where two teenagers get into increasingly ridiculous situations as they fight against an entire world who’s against abortion.

It feels like a swing and a miss. Ronnie and Bailey were engaging characters, but Kevin’s continuous appearances were ridiculous, no road trip goes through so much turmoil, they’re beyond casual about various felonies while being serious about abortion - both should have at least a similar level of respect in the narrative - and there’s too much unnecessary drama when there is so much potential for actual discourse in relation to the topics.

I think my 3 stars are for the characters, and Bailey’s quips because she was awesome. I just wish there had been at least a sensitivity read on some of it.

This book was okay. The plot was average. There were some confusing parts, but there were also some good parts. Kevin should fall off a cliff, and Bailey is incredible. I have mixed feelings about Veronica. That's more due to her personality rather than her actions. I wouldn't really recommend this book unless you need a half-hearted laugh and an attempt to stop teen pregnancy.

Llega un punto en lo que todo lo que las pasa en el viaje es súper exagerado. A pero me gusta que es toda una burla a los provida y que hablan del aborto sin tabúes y de forma divertida

I loved this book! It requires some dark humor to be enjoyable, but I found it right up my alley. I think it’s meant to be a little ridiculous the lengths they have to go through to get an abortion because any hoop jumping is ridiculous in itself. While the abortion is the reason for the road trip, it’s not discussed a ton in depth but I enjoyed the depth that was there.

A quick read, about an extremely important topic, but more so about rekindling friendships, learning not to care what other people think, and having adventures along the way.

I'd honestly say save your time and watch the movie, there's nothing wrong with the book in fact i enjoyed it plenty but it's nothing you can't get in the 2 hours of the film

WOW THIS BOOK! I will admit two things!
1. I read this book based solely on the trailer for the HBO MAX adaptation.
2. I had some reservations because usually I don't tend to fare well with YA.

But I just fell head over heels in love with this book. It has one of my favourite niche narrative's aka 2 Girls/Women/Queer road trip. I blame being allowed to watch films like Thelma. & Louise and Pricilla Queen of the Dessert, when I was young but I digress. Unpregant a book I would recommend to any young pro choice person. It is truly a new, fresh take on teenage pregnancy and does something so effortlessly that most books/shows/movies struggle with, it normalises abortion!

I saw some people critique this book for not taking the subject 'seriously' enough. But I would disagree, the actual scenes which feature the abortion, are handled with such delicacy and its done with so much respect for anyone who has ever made the decision to have one. But what it does well, is that it normalises it, the road trip isn't all doom and gloom, its two friends trying to make some happy memories to take away from their own darkness.

ALSO before I close this review, to anyone who says that abortion isn't justified, or specifically within the context of this book they felt as if Ronnie should have kept her baby NAH! Because whilst it's not explicitly said (and it should be) her boyfriend sexually assaulted her. He purposely poked holes in the condom without her knowledge... That is ASSAULT! And I do wish the writers would have called it out more, but I felt as if that's not the story they wanted to tell, which is completely fair. Whilst I did rate this book 5 stars, because I genuinely really enjoyed it, I just wished that they stressed how abusive the boyfriends behaviour is, for the sake of the younger readers, who may need things explained to them in a more consice way.

Overall, I really did enjoy this book. It was a really fast read, and one of the more interesting YA reads of the year!
