I don't understand why some people group Lucinda Berry with Freida McFadden. They're both so different.

This book made me feel. It was such an emotional book. I may not have cried but I can confidently say this will stick to me, maybe more if I have kids right now. The ending was shocking.

I'm right to hate THAT person from the beginning. 

Read this with caution.

I found it really hard to rate this book, and I think in order to do it, I have to look past the themes of the book, and more to the style as heavy content like this will always cloud judgement. 

It felt quite oddly paced, like everything happened very quickly, but if it was any longer it wouldn’t have been as engaging for the reader. I think it was obviously a hard read, but it was captivating and not like anything I’ve read for a while, but I don’t know whether that’s a good thing. 

The last 30% of the book was the best for me, although I’m not sure the twist at the end was necessary, it felt placed and rushed and it didn’t really add to the overall story.

WOOF. This was a hard one to swallow. This was my first Lucinda Berry read and I’ll definitely be checking out more of her books. She definitely forces you to think and be in the shoes of a child molester’s mother. I highly recommend reading this instead of listening - the narration was a bust.
