Ever since the first book, I can only imagine lark as being a POC with pretty black curly hair. I dont know why. I can’t see her being blonde with blue eyes. Anyway….
Almost DNF this book multiple times. The plot wasn’t really there. The “romance” was Meh. The spice was alright.

First book was better. I wouldn’t recommend this one to a friend.

I am OBSESSED with these cast of characters and the genuine love that they all have for each other. The first is still my favorite thus far BUT these characters are addicting and I can't wait for the new release in January!

strangers to enemies to lovers.. fake marriage to real.. murder to love. this trilogy is so fiery and enthralling, that, even though Lark and Lachlan are no Rowan and Sloane, I couldn't get through this fast enough to watch them fall in love through murder, death, and more missing eyeballs (iykyk). Looking forward to book 3!

Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ / 5

Brynne Weaver has once again made me fall in love with serial k!llers. Who would've thought? 😅

Lachlan Kane has been stuck working for his boss for years, and he would do anything to get out. Even marrying Lark Montague. Lark will do anything to keep her family, both blood and found, safe, including marrying a man she's determined to hate. Lark and Lachlan's marriage is one of convenience and comes with a catch--if Lachlan can help catch a killer, Lark will help him get out from under his boss' finger.  Lachlan thinks that Lark is just a happy-go-lucky princess, but the more time they spend together, the more Lachlan realizes there is darkness that hides beneath Lark's sunny exterior. Can the two of them turn their sham of a marriage into a real one? Or will their dark pasts and the ghosts that follow them destroy their future?

Leather & Lark goes back in time a bit to before Butcher & Blackbird, when Lark and Lachlan have their first volatile encounter, and continues through and past the events of book 1. We also get a few glimpses of Sloane and Rowan as well as Fionn and Rose throughout the book, which is always fun.

I loved seeing Lachlan and Lark grow throughout the novel. Their relationship in the beginning is fueled by mutual gain but gradually and naturally turns into something more. The two really complement each other in both their bright and dark moments. Though the plot did drag a bit in the middle, it definitely made up for it with the banter, tension, spicy scenes, and action-packed ending.

Again, I listened to the audiobook of Leather & Lark, and I'd highly recommend it to audiobook lovers because the dual narration is wonderful. It really accentuates the banter between Lark and Lachlan and maybe makes it even better.

This one was good! I think I enjoyed it more than the first book and the audiobook narrators did a phenomenal job bringing the story to life. Same amount of spice and gore as in the first book so watch for that, but the plot felt a bit more cohesive. Looking forward to the third book!

Excellent book. Not quite as good as the first one but still awesome. Gonna be honest the laughs in the recording brought the rating down .25. They were so annoying and grating that they pulled me out of the story just a little each time.
