TJR can definitely write a book. There was so much I enjoyed about this book; the writing was incredible and it held my interest the entire time. But, it didn't give me that 5 star feeling and I think that's down to the themes not being for me.

I feel like what made me enjoy this book was the fact that I listened to it on audiobook. I enjoyed hearing different voices share different perspectives. I couldn’t imagine reading it and trying to keep all these random people straight in my head. I really just didn’t see this incredible and earth shattering connection and romance that Daisy and Billy allegedly shared. I understand that the characters are supposed to be unreliable and biased, since it’s first had retellings, but it just made it hard to believe that this connection existed in the way it was being hyped up as.

Really great book, love taylor jenkins reid!!! TW for drug and alcohol abuse but other than that I really liked the characters and the overall vibe. I loved the style of it being written like an interview as well, that was something unique I’d never seen before! I have no specific complaints but since it didn’t wow me I would rate it 4 stars, but bumped it to 4.5 because of the interview style of book which was so cool. Seeing other reviews also makes me wish I’d listened to the audiobook!! Overall a good read that me want to join a band

Finally moved this from my TBR to my “Read-It” shelf! And WOW! I loved the podcast-documentary format of this novel. Taylor Jenkins Reid weaves magic with her words: I truly felt like this was a book of nonfiction, a story about a real band and their journey. Every character pops off the page. And, with a full-cast narration including Jennifer Beals, Judy Greer, Benjamin Bratt, and Julia Whelan, the audiobook was a dynamic way to experience the story. I find myself extra eager to now watch the TV adaptation!
