Really strong start, this had such a deliciously infuriating setup and I wanted justice for Stella very badly. The chemistry between Stella and Beck was electric and I liked how they became friends first, it made it all the sweeter when they got together.
I felt a bit cheated by the ending. Lots of conflict is established - the tension of being caught fake dating, awful Karen and her pettiness and obsession with Stella, everyone at the wedding knowing Stella's history with Matt, Beck's heritage and relationship to Henry, Stella's career aspirations being dependent on the building sale. All of this gets really easily resolved or just ignored which I found really odd, lovely as the scene where Beck whisks Stella away was. Instead we get a jarring scene where Stella decides she can't trust men and is quite cruel to Beck. Conflict of a sort, but of the jarring and inauthentic variety, which was a shame.
Still, I enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more of this series.

This was my first book by the author and I really enjoyed it, Beck and Stella were amazing and I loved their interactions, fake romances are one of my favorite tropes and they nailed everything from the beginning. They both needed each other so at first they were together just for business but little by little they started seeing the good in the other and trusting each other.
They were both wonderful and I loved their chemistry, how Beck never wanted a real relationship until he met Stella and how he proved to her that he could be trusted. It took some time for them to figure out how to be together but they couldn’t deny their attraction and at the end their fake romance turned into the best thing that ever happened to them.
Beck’s friends were all amazing so now I’m really excited to read about all of them and their love stories.
