I really enjoyed this parody of books such as

This book is full of gems:

- Own lots of cats. Why? "Because they are fluffy and quiet and everyone likes quiet, fluffy things."

- Own lots of books.

Any trip to a place that sells books of any kind requires you to purchase one. You could be eight months behind on your rent, and if you don't buy a book at a used bookstore, you're basically a bad person who doesn't love to read.

A good way to tell if you should buy something is to ask yourself: Do I want it? If the answer is yes, then buy it. Whatever it is. Life is short and you've earned it. You're a nice person, probably, just doing your best.

Like looking in a mirror. Wonderful and strangely reassuring. Sorry this is so short - I need to go buy more books.

This short audio e-book is one of those parodies of self-help books, in this case a parody of Marie Kondo's tidy up book and similar clean your mess books. Instead of throwing away and decluttering, embrace your messiness and be happy. The author urges us all to clutter mindfully. It is a parody, but it may have a small kernel of truth. Still, the book is mildly amusing, but it is not particularly substantial nor memorable. On a positive, it was a short book. In the end, it was OK.

Some bits were funny. Mostly low hanging fruit against the tidiness movement.

I needed this book after going crazy on minimalist and tidying books that rarely left me with anything other than anxiety, guilt and insecurity about my ability to actually just do it.
This book is more realistic, i mean, it’s a parody, but still managed to lift off some of the anxiety induced by reading about tidying up, I’ll still read them and aspire to some sort of improvement because that’s how i am but I’ll not be too hard on myself while doing so, I won’t take it as seriously, anymore, thank you , Jennifer !!
(sorry I don’t know when and why I started refereeing to authors by their first names but idk how to stop lol)

A silly and frivolous book, I know, but I just couldn't resist it. Too many times I've wavered between feeling guilty for not living in a Kondo-esque clutter-free lifestyle and reveling in living surrounded by creative possibilities. So, I bought this book and laughed and laughed and laughed and told several of my friends that they need to read it, but I am not ready to loan out my copy - not just yet!

What I need is not more guilt for my life - but more models for living a life of messy, joyful exuberance. This book is a good step in that direction. Included are helpful quizzes like "how to tell if you're messy or a hoarder," which starts out "Are there any rotting fruits in your living room?" and all three answers start with "Yes, but..." In between all the snark are a few good perspective checks as well, like "More than 2.6 billion people do not have indoor plumbing - including more than 1.5 million Americans... So spare me your sob story about how all the bathrooms you've pinned on Pinterest are unattainable."

So, a lot of humor, a little perspective, and a bunch of quizzes. It was just what my brain wanted at that moment of time.
