This book was a sweet read. Although I wish there was an epilogue of sorts to find out “what happens later”, I was beyond satisfied with the developments of the story. It was sweet and simple read and I loved the healing that takes place for the characters. I fell in love with all the characters and can’t wait to read the second book so I can be a part of the family again. I am a sucker for this time period and the sweet gestures that take place within the manners and etiquette of the people. In my opinion, worth the read. I love this author and the way she writes romance.

This was such delightful read with likeable characters and I'm looking forward to Oliver and Elizabeth's story.

What an enjoyable book!! I listened on audio and this was one of those books that grabbed me from the very beginning and didn't let go.

Rose was orphaned as a young girl and became a con woman, tricking men out of their money. Carver was one of her unsuspecting victims, but he had other plans.

I don't know anything about the faith of this author, but my guess is she is a Christian because of how gospel-centered this book is, receiving love when we expect and deserve condemnation. It's a beautiful and sometimes teary story (but quite happy overall).

Highly recommended!

4 sweetness, 0 spice.  One criticism was that it didn't feel regency. It felt like modern people in costume. I can identify with the fl as she tried to fit in with people who couldn't understand how differently she'd grown up. I love the ml's family. But there was very little surprise in it as a whole.
