DC's really getting worse. New 52 is crashing, like I feared it would when they released the timeline. They're pushing so hard that they aren't doing what they should - take their time and do a good story. That's what's most important, the story. How the characters fit in the world they've built, and they built a shitty world with a craptastic timeline, stripped key points of characters (or just stripped characters entirely, see Batman vol 7), and put it with a thrown together script and we got what we have now.

My brother's given up entirely on DC thanks to this, and I'm close to following. With all the others stories going on in Bat Family 52 I'm really disgusted right now. This is barely a 3. Probably closer to a 2.

Gotham Academy is so good! This volume opens with a really fun poem from Maps, like a Detective Club cheer. We get some supernatural drama, a trip to Arkham Asylum, and more of their friendship group.

I wish this series was still ongoing. It'll be sad to say goodbye to these characters once I finish catching up.

Great story. Better than the last. We get to pique into Olivia's past but there are still mysteries left to be solved. I'm really liking where the story is going.

I really enjoy the interesting characters and storyline in this series. It's action-packed, funny, and fresh. The art, dynamic and vivid, cohesively work with the dialogue.

I love the cast in the Gotham Academy series but I frequently feel rather lost in terms of story - no idea what is backstory and what is canon I'm supposed to know!

Reread.

Meh. I picked this run up because I wasn't sure if I ever finished it or not. After reading this volume I remember reading this one previously, but I'm still not sure if I finished it or not. However, I'm not sure if I care to continue on or not. The story seems choppy and like things happen so fast that you're not sure what just happened. The whole thing felt rushed and I overall just don't care much about the characters which isn't how I felt in volume 1.

3 stars. Definitely not as good as the first volume but still this series is just so stinking cute and a lot of fun. I think the plot of this one wasn't as focused and was all over the place. And while I was excited to see Damian Wayne, he felt like a waste because he wasn't there for that long which was upsetting because the way the first volume ended I thought he would be more important in this one. Other than those complaints, this was still really enjoyable and I'm digging this series a lot and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next volume.

A bunch of smaller stories that aren't really fleshed out well. I wanted to know more about all of them
