A fascinating book about Henrietta's permanent contribution to science and the family left in the dark about it (and without money to fund their own medical bills). It goes through the history of cell and tissue cultures and the ethics and legalities behind it.

Pretty incredible story. Would recommend to anyone, scientist or non-scientist.

I thought that overall this book was really great. I think that what Rebecca sKloot tried to do is awesome. Henrietta Lacks has contributed so much to science and medicine and has received very little recognition for that. Without her, and her strange and immortal cells, we would not have many vaccines information regarding various diseases. Giving the family a chance to learn about Henrietta, while also telling their story, made for a very interesting and sad book. The Lacks family deserves so much more than the little they've gotten.
