Slow in places but if you love all things Pride and Prejudice and are prepared to just be immersed in this world for the language and familiar characters, then give it a try.

I had no idea what this book was about when I first checked it out of the library, and I think because of that found it enjoyable. It had also been awhile since I read Pride and Prejudice, so I didn't have the characters or writing style fresh in my mind to compare. Because of this, I found it an enjoyable and fun read for my flight.

Lovely adaptation of a favorite Jane Austen Novel. A murder mystery sequel to Pride and Prejudice. James does Austen justice in this mystery novel and nearly pulls off sounding like her. Lovely and inventive novel. Highly recommend it to those who love Pride and Prejudice and those of us who just want a good mystery.

I was intrigued because I like Jane Austen, and have really loved the Carrie Bebris's mystery novels with the Darcys set in various Austen books. My sister-in-law recommended this. And while I enjoyed it, it was not some great new idea in Austen sequels. I will stick with Bebris and enjoy the humor along with the mystery.

I read this the first time just following watching the miniseries (which was perfectly cast) and I think that may have helped. It is a Jane Austen court drama in many ways but I do enjoy it as a look at Darcy and Elizabeth's married life and how they have maneuvered (and avoided) the family drama over the years. In the end, the mystery is not the best but the glimpse into the future for the Darcys is worth it in my book.
