This will be my go-to gift book. Why? Because even if you somehow already know everything there is to know about everything, this is still one that you need to read. No, it's not one of those books that lets you in on the secret to life or tells you things that you really didn't always know, but it does make some important lessons, dare I say...fun.

The author is obviously a very creative person - which he will remind you of several times throughout this book. It'd be annoying if I didn't believe him so much based on this work alone. It's simple, it's easy to read, and it packs some impactful lessons. Since that's all I went into the book looking for, I can't complain.

I keep a stack of books that I think hold the most meaning to me on my desk - this one will be added to that, possibly even at the top.

I liked it! The format, font and pictures keep it light and I found a few things in here that I already do to try and spur my creative side, and a few other tips I will definitely be trying. Read this for our company book club, looking forward to discussing it with a group of very creative people.

Simplistic, but spot on with basic instructions for doing instead of just talking about it thinking about doing.

Quick read (less than an hour). Good for what it is - a brief book of advice to maximize your creativity.

Every artist needs to own or at least have read this book. So insightful. If you get a chance, check out his TED talk.

A very quick read and quite inspiring! His best advice was to make the most out of your obscurity, as an artist or even otherwise. You can make as many mistakes as you want, and if you're smart, you're basically learning form people and not just copying their art: not to make as your favourite artists, but to see as your favourite artists.
