I- THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING. Its started and ended on cliffhangers and I actually loved it. It picked up moments after the end of the first book and I LOVE OLIVIA AND NOAH. i loved watching their relationship develop in this book

This book picks up right after the first volume and deals mostly with a revenge porn plot. (Shockingly, not even the worst part of the book??!) Still, these characters don't communicate with each other (ew) and that was the basis for most of my frustration.

SpoilerThe big drama in this book centers on the fact that part of the inheritance stipulates that not only do they have to get married, but he also needs to impregnate her within 90 days for them to inherit their shares of the company. Gross. I hated this aspect of the plot and I hated it even more at the climax of the book when Noah has a brief moment where he thinks about sticking a needle through a condom. I HATE IT I HATE IT SO MUCH. My gag reflex was triggered just thinking about it. Perhaps I'm a bit more sensitive to the issue because of everything happening nowadays with Roe v. Wade, but even if that wasn't happening, I think the feminist in me would be outraged at how men were trying to dictate over Olivia's choice and her body.

I did go on to read the final volume only to see how in the world the author was going to justify that mess but I certainly wasn't happy about it.

Spoilers: this narrator wasn’t my favorite. I loved the dual narration on part one way more. Having a mad read the female parts just doesn’t do it for me for the entire book. It would have been better having a woman read the whole thing in my personal opinion. But also, the fact that Noah just kept not talking about the heir clause in the contract and then him about pop the condom?! I was so fucking pissed. Have to run to book/part 3 now because idk how this is possibly being rectified.

I would not be continuing this series after enjoying the first one so much as not only did they changed the voice actor from Teddy Hamilton to Alexander Cendese but also completely removed Ava Erickson for Olivia’s point of view. I don’t mind not having Teddy Hamilton the issue is I got used to hearing his voice so when the story ended, I immediately went and grabbed the next story to listen to only to be found disappointed when I didn’t Teddy Hamilton’s voice but to also remove the female voice completely but have Alexander Cendese narrate both point of views. And then add the stereotypical accent for Rosita that felt like a slap to the face. I was gritting my teeth hearing Alexander narrating her lines because just like most people of color there is a stereotypical accent that is associated with our races that we cannot escape from. To me you could be born in the States and still be expected to talk with an accent. Some people would even be surprised if you speak “English well.” In the first volume it was mentioned a few words (which I still have an issue with) but when she talked in English she had no accent so I had believed that she had grew out of the accent as some people do but when I heard it in the volume 2 I just couldn’t even as much as I tried getting through it I just couldn’t.
