This was stranger things? meets It (or any motley crew from Stephen King multiverse)?. This has interesting elements, and I understood the point of the authors writing, but I think I enjoy horror books that are not so long

Imaginary Friends is like part Stephen King, part John Does at the End, part Chuck Palahniuk. Stephen Chbosky SLAYS with his sophomore book.

This book was so intriguing in the first half! I was found myself actually scared at some parts and was looking forward to finishing. The last half of this book is when it completely fell apart. I wasn’t expecting this to be Christian horror.

Woah.. closing the last page of this book #imaginaryfriend published by @grandcentralpub left me with a shiver crawling up my arms. Gloriously terrifying and PERFECT for a scary October read. I very much enjoyed how #stephenchbosky really developed the characters and gave them life, which often times is neglected in horror/thriller novels. I also appreciated how he keep it scary and gory without becoming grotesque. Once that line is crossed a story becomes less thrilling and just disgusting. Mr. Chbosky balanced his writing perfectly and left me wanting more!!
P.S. I'll never look at a treehouse the same way!

This book was both good and bad.. I really liked the premise and it did keep me interested and that’s why I finished it. It was a little creepy at times but nothing really. It was just too long.. way too long. It would have been 50% less and would have been even better.

Wow this got REALLY PREACHY in the last 100 or so pages which really took me out of it, unfortunate since i enjoyed the book up until the dragged out ending. Probably a 3.5, but going with 4 because i really enjoyed the earlier bits of the novel
