This was a fun read, I enjoyed the characters and the stakes seemed reasonable for the story. A good middle grade to early high school e read for fans of Howl's Moving Castle or Séance Tea Party.
Moderate: Death and Violence
Minor: Animal death, Gun violence, Blood, Abandonment, and War
There is a panel or two depicting dead bodies - there are sheets over the bodies and they do not die on screen. The main character often feels abandoned by her brother who left for the war there is a brief moment in which a beetle and a gecko die during a 'circle of life' moment. They are not characters in the book. The main character's brother has just returned from the war and has a few flashbacks to it as well as some PTSD symptoms from it but they are not focused on. There is one scene in which the main character is threatened by a gun.thevampiremars's review against another edition

Salt Magic is a short but sweet tale about growing up and overcoming the desire to stay young forever. I adored the protagonist, Vonceil, from the very beginning – she has such a strong personality and it’s impossible not to root for her.
I bought this book for its stunning cover. The artwork inside isn’t quite as beautiful, but it’s expressive and full of character. It’s clear that a great deal of care has gone into the designs – from the characters to the architecture to the props and vehicles. It’s a well-crafted graphic novel all round :)
Moderate: Confinement, Death, Infidelity, Violence, Blood, Abandonment, Alcohol, War, and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Ableism, Animal death, Drug use, Gun violence, Sexism, Suicidal thoughts, Pregnancy, and Colonisation
