i can imagine i would have been obsessed with this book when i was like 10/12, and i can see why it was such a hit, even though I don't think the magic of it hits me as much at 24.

This might be a totally unpopular opinion because nearly everyone who has read this book seemed to adore it. It took me way too long to read. There was something about it that just felt like a drag. The whole idea of the book was good but it just lacked something for me. I found myself getting bored and I had to keep putting the book and sometimes I didn’t pick it back up for days.

I’ve been putting off this review because I hate being negative about books. I enjoyed the characters but it was just missing something that would’ve made them work better. Maybe the whole book was too slow paced? I’m not sure what it was. Safe to say I won’t be reading the rest of the series which is a real shame because I’d been looking forward to reading this series for a long time.

I might have liked this book more if I was younger. Every decision made I thought was incredibly stupid and annoyed me. the last 20% was good but the rest I could barely get through. idk, I just wasn’t a fan.
