OK I didn't try very hard with this one. About half an hour of rereading the same paragraph and wondering if I actually was interested enough to carry on. I'm not convinced I made it through the first chapter.

I picked this up because it seemed different. It also was because it was a male author writing fantasy and I'm always trying to find male authors of fantasy novels (I just seem to read a lot of female authors) and I'm always trying to expand my reading palette. I just am not interested its not thrilling its not captivating and I just don't care

This is like Dresden Files but much better. It’s available for free on kindle unlimited (including audio) but I would have happily paid for it. Needless to say I will continue the series.

Great read. Fast paced. Excellent storytelling. Available free for Amazon Prime members to borrow (and I'd strongly suggest you do).

A really fun read, with lots of action, humor, magic, friendships and a good amount of fighting and blood. ;) I had a great time reading it - and the series will help tide me over until the next Harry Dresden book will be out. Really good urban fantasy with a thieving wizzard whonhasnto find out who he is, after 10 years without his memories.

Fun urban fantasy with a twist toward Avalon. Just who is Nate really?

Last year I accidentally picked up [Magic Reborn] which I enjoyed but noted all the background I didn't know about. So I returned to -re-read this book and read the rest of the first series.

I can certainly see the progress McHugh has made. This book is not nearly as well put together as [Sorcery Reborn] so I'll be happy to see his progress as I work my way through the series.

As for the book itself, I really enjoyed the main characters and the plot was convoluted enough for me to enjoy. World building is intriguing as it involves Avalon and Arthur. Looking forward to learning more about both of those.

I wanted to like this book. It's not a bad read. I will even pick up the next book. I just feel that the main character is a little weak. There just doesn't seem to be a lot there. An urban fantasy equivalent of James Bond. He can beat anyone he's not sleeping with (Which is every female that sees him.). Not bad, just not what I'm looking for.

This was surprisingly not terrible. I phrase it like that with a tone of incredulity because Steve McHuge managed to make me like and be entertained despite the voice in the back of my mind saying, "This dude is the biggest overpowered Gary Stu ever and so many genre tropes are mashed up that it looks like a kid's melted ice cream social sundae." Thief + Spy + Assassin + Sorcerer + Dude who has hot sex with 2.5 women + Dude who plays the role of The Professional's Leon and rabidly protects kids...plus, wait for it...this is an urban fantasy retelling of King Arthur? This is definitely not high literature, but it's solidly-written, and I think I'll be glad to munch on the rest of the books.

Absolutely fucking brilliant. I've had this series saved on my kindle for months now due to them coming up for sale on the kindle. But absolutely brilliant. An excellent urban fantasy that has be gripped like nothing I've read in a long time! Love the bad assness take no prisoners of the MC.

Only issue is it could do with a proof read.
SpoilerEG start of chapter 14 "I'd not used a gun in the past decade, not even for practise" and later on in the same chapter "I'd used a gun very few times in the last decade"
