I really enjoyed this dark magical book, well about books. I started with book of doors and wanted something similar and I will say this book is more global. There’s magic from the world. The story is told through three different perspectives and I really enjoyed it when we finally
got to the connection.
I didn’t really get hooked until the third chapter so push through if you’re struggling, it’s highly worth it. I really really loved it.
The way the author wrote the backstory for Isabel is really well done.
I was so sucked in.

Honestly, I loved that two of the characters were so socially awkward.

It doesn't happen too often, but every once in a while I find a book that's very difficult to put down. When it comes to Ink, Blood, Sister, Scribe, I had to pull an all-nighter while going through the most exciting chapters because I knew I couldn't sleep until a resolution was found.

I would call this fantasy-horror due to the many body-harm scenes with blood and mentions of horrific topics, but it's not scary or graphic in other ways. You just can't have an aversion to reading about blood and the way they write with it, which definitely made me uncomfortable, but I powered through since the story was so captivating overall.

(Kids, don't try this at home. It's a fantasy world in this novel, and making yourself bleed to write stuff is only going to hurt you and make you sick. You won't find "magic" that way in our actual reality. So no self-harm, please!)

This was spooky, fun, and very creepy at times. I could have done with less detail being given on the blood-draws and more on the magic side. Took a while to really get engrossing, since the storylines were very separate at first.

Loved the writing and the characters. Have to say was disappointed that
Joanna ended up with Collins and Nicholas was just unused as a romantic character, especially since he was the main focus of the book for 50% of the time

Loved this one! One of the best fantasy mysteries I’ve read in a while. The characters are lovable and their relationships—new and old—are super sweet. The pacing is excellent: how hard I was cheering for the characters to succeed rose at the exact same rate as the danger level rose and crystalized into clarity. And at the pitch of the climax I *still* didn’t know if a key player was trustworthy or not! Could not put it down, read those 400 pages in approximately two sittings.
