This book really surprised me. I read it for a group I'm in (literALLy BOOKiSh find it on Facebook) Another member had suggested it so I decided to give it a go. I'm so glad I did! This book was sweet, a little sad, with just enough magic and mystery. I only guessed one thing about the books story line, the rest totally surprised me. I'm really glad I picked this one up and I can't wait to read more of Heathers work.

Initially, this book was too syrupy sweet and I thought I might give up on it.  As the characters' individual stories and relationships developed, I found that I really liked the characters and wanted to see how things turned out for them.  There's a lot of magical realism in this book, but at the same time, it appropriately addresses themes of found family, acceptance, and grief.  With a little added mystery and second-chance romance, it was a fun read, though a little predictable.
