This book is by far the best in the second phase. Who would have thought LYSANDER became the most hated character in the series’s. I always had feeling that is form justice and unity was that of pure selfishness hiding behind façade. Darrow seems to really have really grown more as he is facing consequences of his actions. As for Cassius his redemption ark was nicely written. Every chapter of the book kept you engaged. Look forward to the finally.

I didn't reread the series (just wiki) before starting this one, so it took some time to get reset into the world of planets, moons and characters. Listened to the audiobook. The narrator does a lovely job. Brown writes each character's perspective in their own voice. The relationships and banter between characters is one of the most enjoyable parts. Brown hits on larger questions like the purpose of war, duty, chosen family.

Not as satisfying as the first trilogy, more war and  less philosophy than I was looking for.

This book had me stressed from the start and by the end I had gone through every emotion. The pace is fast and action packed, decent twists, compelling character interactions, and it left me distraught that the final book isn’t out yet.

I can’t believe it’s over. For now. This was such a painful and heartbreaking read. But there were also moments of pure joy. I really hope the next book finally ends the saga.

This book was very evenly paced and balanced between action and build up. Characters were especially broody and reflective in this book all around. And each time you thought something was going to work out it didn’t but every time you thought it’d go wrong somehow it went right. Wild ride for sure.
