I have no idea why I haven't read this book. I've read a graphic novel edition of this, that sequel/first draft that no one liked (Go Set a Watchman), and even a YA fiction love letter to it (I Kill the Mockingbird by Paul Acampora) but have still yet to get around to reading the original. Well, it seemed about time I remedied that, and so read the original I did.

I had a hard time getting into the story. I loved the writing and once I hit part 2, I finished in a few hours. Atticus is an amazing character. This look into small town life in the South, capturing the good that exists, the humanity, I like it!
Not sure now I got through high school without reading this. Read during Banned Book Week 2014.

Realized how careless I can be with judgement, it’s a bitter weapon. Also this edition had fancy pages which I now see as mandatory because they are awesome
