Such a consistent series. I've never given all of the books in a trilogy the same rating before. So solid! That said, they all suffered from the same few flaws, but they're so minor I won't rehash them again. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that after the huge gap between reading these, I still cared about the characters. My heart got what it wanted out of all of this. I think I'm done with apocalypse books though. And this can be the first and last of my angel reads.

... I'm really glad I was able to read these books back to back, the benefit of not starting a series until it is done *Ü* There were parts I didn't love (the trip to the pit), but near the end, as implausible as a post-apocalyptic "talent show" would be, I was touched by it and the descriptions. There were a couple of tough situations, where I wasn't sure how things could be resolved. I thought it was a good wrap up to the series, although at the very end, I felt it was a little rushed, with things not really explained (wing transplant AGAIN?). I'll look back on this series fondly.

I half read, half listened to this book ... benefit of Kindle Unlimited and the ability to easily switch between formats.

Favorite quote ... "I might as well dress postapocalyptic practical."

*ACTUAL RATING :: 3.5/5 STARS!!*

Alright, I have a lot of feelings toward this book. This book was kind of slow to get into and if I’m being completely honest, I don’t entirely remember the beginning of the novel. I also felt I had to set this book down for an extended period of time because characters making such IDIOTIC decisions that I couldn’t completely enjoy. I also didn’t like how slow of a burn the romance was throughout the entire series, and it made the last 20-30 pages went by extremely fast. The writing was still amazing and the character development was as well! I really did enjoy this novel but I can’t give it a full 4-5 stars.

THIS IS HOW TO FINISH A SERIES

Susan Ee has outdone herself with this one, after only discovering this series this year (yes I’ve been living under a rock) I shamelessly went through the first 2 books in 2 days. It quickly rose to being my favourite paranormal/sci-fi series ever.

End of Days is the explosive conclusion to an epic series where Penryn & Raffe try to stop an apocalypse and try to save the human race from being wiped out by angels. Easy right?

Penryn ‘The Angel Killer’ is as badass as ever, she will do anything to help save her family and mankind. Aside from her fierce nature in the past two books I loved her more than ever in this one; Yes the world is coming to an end and angels want to kill all humans but she was able to have these girly moments in the middle of a war to appreciate how heart stopping-ly good Raffe looked in a baseball cap or when kidnapped to check to see if a crazy cult had shaved her head? These little laughable moments were like a breath of fresh air because obviously the book is not all sunshine and rainbows.

However the best best best part of this book was the romance, we finally got what we was lacking in World After and trust me it’s worth the wait! It wasn’t a constant feature throughout the book but these sizzling forbidden kisses and touches will leave you a little flushed but with enough tension to want more, seriously 25+ pages and I was dying!! Enjoy ;) .

“That’s who you are— my brave, loyal, lovable Daughter of Man.”

I really enjoyed getting to know Penryn’s mother more because obviously she’s down right crazy but she will go to extreme lengths to protect both of her children. Raffe is as charming and swoon-worthy as ever and he even developed a little bit of a sense of humour, I just love him! Of course little Paige who my heart just bleeds for throughout the series becomes such a strong character even after everything that has happened to her. I found myself ridiculously protective of her because I couldn’t imagine anything happening to my little sister even though she annoys me to death, Love you really Courtney!

Like Angelfall and World After the plot was gripping, well paced and will be enjoyable to read again and again. I only took issue with the ending because it felt a tad anti-climatic and there are some series questions that needing answering for me. Regardless of the issues I had this has still been one of my all time favourites and with a stunning conclusion I couldn’t not give it 5 stars.

“So if it’s not a pig farm that you want, what is it?” he asks.
I swallow. “How about a safe place to live where we don’t have to scrounge for food or fight for it?”
“It’s yours.”
“That’s it? All I have to do is ask?”
“No. There’s a price for everything.”
“I knew it. What is it?”
“Me.”

Literary-ly Obsessed

Post reading World After:

description

I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MAY 12th.. ARE YOU SERIOUS?

I hate my life!
I have just read the first 2 books within 2 days and then this happens? I couldn't be more depressed..
The final book better more than make up for the missing Penryn & Raffe moments in 3/4 of the last book
With all the doom & gloom of waiting I have to say this is one of the best series I've read in a while so I suppose I shall sit and unhappily wait for the next book!

(2.5 rounded up to 3) I hate to say it but this book was boring. Book 1 was fun and set the series up in a way that I was excited for, but it just wasn’t what I wanted. Book 2 had basically no Raffe, and so I was like okay book 3 is where it’s at... but no. There’s basically no romance in this? And here I go again being disappointed because people told me there was romance in a YA series. 3 kisses in the span of 3 books (that were not even romantic kisses half the time) is not “romance” to me.

The writing style and the characters were good, and I think a young adult who doesn’t care about romance would love this. But I do care about romance and that’s honestly not the books fault, it’s mine for having expectations. Regardless, I was just bored and wanting to DNF.
