An eye-opening look into what it’s like to live with schizophrenia. Highly recommend!

Wow… just wow. Saks details her experience in such a phenomenal, raw, and gripping way. Through her life we come to know Elyn and the three sectors of her life… “How many times, I wondered, would I have to deal with the betrayal of this mass of nerves and blood vessels and muscle and skin?” This memoir truly opens your eyes in to the life of someone diagnosed with schizophrenia. I am amazed - not only with her experience, but the way I am able to see this disorder through a completely different lense.

We need more Elyn Saks-like people in the world. There are so few honest and successful people with mental illness. She serves as a lovely model of health and wholeness.
