This is how short story additions to books should be done! Short, but long enough to get a full story in, free, and not about the main characters.

I liked to read it, but I'm still not sure what to make of this story. I think that this story was missing some more details to make it less confusing at some point. Still, I think people could enjoy it.

Cute, quick read. Characters and story line have potential -- is this a lead in to a longer story? If yes, I would be interested in reading more about Cody, Sonia and the town of Spirit.

The story starts out with a simple beginning, starting as many other stories do. However, as the story progresses, more and more unsolved mysteries pop up.
The main character keeps hinting that he's not what he seems to be... His mystery can be a bit annoying at times because he keeps speaking about it in roundabout ways.
I think the author did a great job with Ginny's character. In fact, her mystery was the only one I couldn't guess. I feel like Ben's character is a bit underdeveloped, but there's only so much that can be done in a short story. Ben develops a bit with the main character's explanation of his role.
I especially liked the ending with Sonia, murder, and love. I would have loved to discover more of Sonia's personality, but the short story ended well.
Some of the story included cliche moments, but with a few twists, the author made the cliche interesting. Some parts, especially the transitioning from one day to another is confusing. It would've been nice to have a marker saying some time has passed. The second to last scene where Ben comes in moves a bit fast. Still, the story is enjoyable and worth a read in one's free time.

I have never read a book from this author so I definitely thought that it was a standalone until I came across a small extract from the 4th book in the "Tantalize series" called Diabolical (Tantalize, #4)
Therefore, the main story of Haunted Love is only 17 pages. And even though it seems short, it is worth the read.

I don't really expect much from shorts. Neither in character or world building, not to mention story.
So I was pleasantly surprised by this one.
I instantly felt that I understood the MC, and so I found myself pulled into the story. While it wasn't extremly original or anything, it did have a twist I didn't see coming, not to mention I found the whole odea interesting.
Also, I liked the ending!
